Removing the barrel and poking the key out from the back not an option?

Edit : and possibly more suited to "workshop" 👍

remove the lock complete and turn upside down, bang down on wooden surface ,sharply, the broken blade should move out of the barrel a small amount, grab it with a pair of pliers or forceps.

Is the steering locked or is it just in the 'off' position.

If unlocked, it's just a case of finding the right wires and shorting them.

If it's locked ... dunno. Ask a pikey?

Dont take it to bits and leave it on the pavement though.

That definitely wouldn't end well... Even though I'm sure you wouldn't do it.

Buy a £5 broken key extractor set off amazon.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Walker-Locksmiths-WL341-Broken-extractor/dp/B007X08BJW

Or even try gluing the broken key onto the broken stump using superglue.

I know it sounds fantastic... But...

Hot wiring should be simple enough. There's no immobiliser, figure out what wire combination gives you power to the rest of the bike, done. There will be 4 to 5 wires, all having the same colour.

A friend of mine's bike was stolen and then returned by the 5-0. The thief wired in an old switch from a desktop lamp. Flicking the switch would turn the ignition ON/OFF. My mate ripped that out, bought a new ignition barrel, wired it in himself and it was working again.

Extraction of the key, try a strong magnet (if the key is magnetic).
OR, and that is not a popular answer, call a locksmith. He'll have it out in no time, the MCN's £5 tools should work as well. Thumbs Up

Not on a Bandit it isn't. Directly connecting the wires will stop the ignition unit from working (designed to stop you hotwiring it).

All the best
