Hi all,

I just got my first motorbike (a used kawasaki z300 with 580 miles on it). It's been serviced by the dealership and everything seems fine, except for a very loud screeching/squealing noise when I push it around in neutral. I uploaded a short example (8s) on youtube: https://youtu.be/NJg8CNtP_Ig

Is this something I should be worried about/deal with? Or is it normal? Thanks for your help!

99% sure that is the brakes. Honestly just ride and use them a few times and it should go, if it persists clean them.

If you can lift the front to spin the wheel it should be easier to get an idea where it's coming from.
At worst could be a bearing, relatively inexpensive consumable if caught early.

Thanks, glad it's not the chain or something serious.

The sound is coming from the rear wheel, usually when pushing the bike backwards..

Do you have any form of stand to get the rear wheel off the ground? If so, is there a lot of resistance / noise when rotating the wheel?
