Got bored at work and was thinking of the very bad cold that a colleauge had. Now he was picking school clothes at the time. Which made me wonder is it possible that most of the flu and colds that are caused at the end of school holidays could be caused by the warehouse staff/clothing staff passing it on. This is considering most parents don't wash the clothes when they get them and make the children try them on to make sure they fit soon as they arrive.

I'm no scientist and don't know the details of how long flu or the viruses can last on clothing. Just wondering if it was possible or if my imagination was going over board. Interested in anyone that can work this out either way.

School children ARE the cause of flu.

I was reading up that the viruses can live longer on material or clothes which feed on skin cells for weeks.

And nits.
Don't forget the nits.
They bring those as well.
They should all be shot at dawn.

Point of order. Tut Tut
Have you ever tried to get a load of nits to stand still against a wall. Moreover, where do we get teeny weeny guns and teenier weenier bullets???

Exactly. Wink

Now I've got this strange mental image of a carnivorous suit slowly consuming it's victim

Thanks

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

Presumably your colleague has children or he will be in contact with someone who does, he will infect them

They will go to school and infect their class mates, who in turn infect their parents, who in turn infect their families and colleagues, then the cycle repeats.

Thats how cold/flu spreads, it has nothing to do with insidious carnivorous clothing

You've been watching The Simpsons (Marge in Chains) and saw how the Osaka flu came to Springfield.

I wonder if pandemic control is the reason that motorway services have no doors on the entrance to the toilets, and have a sort of wall chicane instead.

Considering the amount of people you see leaving public bogs without washing their hands you are probably right.

This is precisely why I use a bit of tissue to open the public loo door.

What's the point of washing your hands, only to get a shit infested hand right afterwards?
