The best thing to do in this situation I find is, go absolutely mental at the fucking audacity of the cunts even trying this shit on you. Spout things like, "You wouldn't fucking make a muslim take off their burka would you?" and then leave, without fueling up, on stubborn principle and go miles out of your way to the next one.

Works every time.

Yes, all those burka wearing motorcyclists you see.

I am boycotting an Esso petrol garage on the Purley way Croydon, I was asked to remove my helmet so I did, a few seconds later the pump stopped and I was then asked to remove my farking balaclava so I walked in, paid my 56pence of fuel.

I told the cashier he was taking the piss and he said he had the right to ask me to remove my balaclava. I told him he had NO right and he was a cunt.

As I require to fill up daily I now remove my helmet as standard unless I goto a site that has pay at pump..

If I had a open faced helmet or a flipper I would be okay....

My opinion is that many stations don't have camera's plus those yobs on scooters don't help matters.

Isn't this post meant to be in the Joke a Day thread? I assume this is a joke right?

Being a bellend in the course of a service to the public?
He could of course say he has a skin condition* that merits the balaclava and it would be against disability discrimination or something.

With that attitude why stop at helmets. Instead they could not bother with motorcycles at all.

I doubt they'd miss the business. Careful now with what you wish for.

Anything could happen at fuel stations, depends on the staff there. They may be under very strict instructions from a stupid supervisor who has no knowledge of bikes an if they don't follow them they get disciplined.

Some are quite laidback/nice and relaxed (like me, as I work at a Sainsbury's one) and others are incredibly rude.

I remember this one time I was filling up at Morrisons and was told to take off my helmet, he yelled at me, no please and thank you over the tannoy. I wasnb't too sure if he was talking to me at first because its hard to hear everything with my helmet on. Well I did take off my helmet, came inside to pay and the guy looked angry and pissed off, no hello, thanks or goodbye. Ok then, I will fill up elsewhere. That's the only time I ever had to take my helmet off.

Another time, I wanted to fill up a small can of petrol, and I was carrying it in a backpack. They didn't authorise it and said that it was a bit unsafe. Ok fair enough I knew I might be pushing my luck a bit with that anyway, so I came back straight away with my panniers. These are big, hard panniers, not soft ones. Again, they didn't authorise it, said it was too unsafe. They pretty much told me to fuck off despite having zero knowledge of bikes.

Shell Garage, Queenstown road (south of chelsea bridge) I wasn't allowed to fill my tank up until my bike was on a center stand. I was given some health and safety crap...

I'm not making this up..

Petrol station near me had a big problem with ride offs, so they asked all motorcyclists to remove helmets and pre-pay for fuel. You know what I did?

I stopped taking my car and bike there. Nipped back after six-seven weeks, all signs etc gone. Normal service resumed. Thumbs Up

No need to make a fuss, just stop buying fuel from them. They don't have to sell you fuel, however if you don't want to take your helmet off just don't go there. Heaps of other places that will be fine about it (or use pay at pump). Obviously don't take your car there either.

Um... 2/3rds of my current fleet lack a centre stand.

What do?

o/p..i've used that a few times

never had issue...but mines a flip lid,
open as i fill

annoying for definite... Thumbs Up
but what to do....everyone want's to protect themselves from thieves,
so can see their point.

as others say, poor service ? go elsewhere... Cool

or carry on using and adapt to how they treat you or get stressed out about it...your call Thumbs Up

the pay at pump...can't recall the last time i used one (west london)
that was actually in use...??

normally it's a sign to pay at till, or matey calls you to window as you
attempt to insert card at terminal trying to get it to work

as for profits v bike....we aren't that significant in the grand scheme of things...a good number stop riding over the winter, and few stations close because of it.. Laughing

but if THEY said NO to bikes filing up... Twisted Evil
( i think the biking community would give them a good fight...)
but i doubt it will ever come to that..they don't care enough about us to be bothered to plot our downfall.. Rolling Eyes

Nine tenths of new bikes don't. Even something sensible and bland like the NC doesn't get one. I mean, sure - Honda are using bar instead of tube for the frame and subframe, yet wasting a bit more steel on something very useful like a main stand? FUGGEDABOUDIT. Confused
