Got a 2011 Gz125 Fuel Injection model.

I get nothing when i press the ignition button, The kickstand switch had been playing up for a while so when the bike wouldn't start at all i cut the wire to the switch and connected it.

if i push it and put it into second it will start.

The kickstand switch, does that do anything other than bridge them wires? my thinking is if the bike is starting when bumped then the switch is bypassed and shouldn't affect it ?

The battery is fine. no dimming of lights etc when i try to start it.

Tried starting it with both the clutch depressed and in neutral.

I've no idea about electrics, but disconnected a switch at the clutch lever and put a multi-meter on it, the consistency check i think it is made a beep, even tried bypassing it as i guessed it was some sort of cut off switch. still no luck.

The actual ignition button seems fine, i ended up disconnecting the block connector and tested the wires with the multi meter, it beeps when i press the button.

also the big red cut off switch on the handle appears to work, if i flip it i hear the fuel being primed.

I think one of the conditions of start is either it must be in neutral or clutch depressed. so i'm thinking there must be something that tells the bike that it's in neutral, probably in around the gearbox?

if any one can help kick me in the right direction it would be appreciated. it's my daily commuter and i just ain't fit or young enough to be pushing it about Smile

Tuned out its the starter relay i think, i switched the starter relay with one from an old bike and it attempts to fire.. other issues now though.

Have you actually checked the starter motor itself and the feeds to it?

*edit misread that, yeah the starter button itself works, tester the connection to th esolenoid relay switch thing, ended up replacing that earlier as i have an old bike with some similar parts.

that bit i haven't checked i didn't really know how, i was just told by the guys at dynotech in glasgow, if i picked them up right, the main live from the battery goes to a solenoid, and there's a connection between that and the starter. im gonna google now to see what i can find, failing that the bikes going into dynotech on friday anyway.

any idea about the side stand relay; i.e if that should have been bypassed as well? i found it on this diagram,
