Just ask Boozy's GP when you berate them for their mis-prescription.

I usually go with option 2 but I often deliberately mispronounce drug names to annoy the pharmaceutical company reps. so don't take my word for it.

I've sucessfully managed to get many colleagues to pronounce one of our antibiotics "Therios" (which is intended to be like "serious") like "cheerios".

It can actually be used as high as 2400 mg/day in the short term, anyway.

Conclusion - The doc has decided that 600 mg/day will be adequate to control the OP's pain, also bearing in mind other risk factors that we don't know about, and that in this case the risk:benefit makes a higher dose not worthwhile

10 packets of paracetemol and a bottle of vodka will sort out everything that's wrong with the OP.
The drinks are on me.

Depends on what you class as a benefit in this scenario, really.

Having met him, perhaps the GP is OK with him being in pain.

This is one of those social class discriptors. Like Canterbury sports wear V Adidas. I would have to say "dye" if middle class "dick" for working class. Upper class are space lizards from mars (or other solar or galactic location) so probably moot as they will use far more advanced medical technology so won't need to go to Boots.

Do not underestimate the effectiveness of cold. Get a gel pack whacked on there. I had a shoulder bursitis recently and it was the cold that made the difference.

Bet you hope it's option 2.
