He sort of reminds me of a smart version of Trevor from GTA 5.

Chewing gum for the eyes. I don't feel like I have to be switched on watching; just present.

Hell yes I love his channel ("Focus you FACK!")

I think his viewership rocketed after he did a tear down of the Dyson hair dryer but a lot of people thought it was a 'genuine' review and not a rip-it-to-bits and kill it.

Even bought some of his wares, kindly shipped from Canada.

I like his teardown stuff but his videos on basic workshop techniques, tapping threads, removing seized bolts etc are informative as well as entertaining, there are enough videos on there to keep me interested for a while i think.

Probably like teaching your grandma to suck eggs to you though Pete, i really need to build a decent workshop and get a project bike, it's been too long.

I used to watch this one: https://www.youtube.com/user/erzzi6

I also, for some reason, enjoyed watching watchmakers fixing old mechanical wrist watches. Thinking

Here's one of the watchmakers I used to watch: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC7vSOnpUocYq0z8oiYFk0zQ (english lad, explains stuff as he goes, very relaxing videos)

What's your take on myfordboy? I find his videos to be really relaxing.

Also, AvE is funny, and he clearly knows what he's on about when it comes to manufacturing/design processes, but I do find his schtick gets a bit tired after a while.

I notice the schtick schlips when he actually gets technical.

In general he is pretty good but he does make a lot of comments about the design process which are wrong.

Lots of stuff like "oh I would like to see a metal gear here" or stuff like that when it just isn't necessary and if he was employed as a designer, he would get told to frig off with his expensive wasteful design ideas.

Still interesting to watch.

Myfordboy makes great casting videos. It's nice not to have to listen to someone droning on. Not that I mind a narrative but I prefer the likes of Joe Pieczynski - straight, to the point, no bullshit or embellishment and always informative.

Being a machine shop guy myself his machining is sort of OK and his approach to the ones I have watched seem legit also.
Fannys about a bit though, which suggests he has too much time on his hands.
