Ok, due to a spine operation, I've had to sell the 1200st, and need something lighter, and more upright.

Initial thoughts were an Enfield bullet, but I'm not totally convinced.

A few years ago, I had a BMW funduro, 650 single, light, upright, pleasant to ride.

An update of this is the 650 CS with belt drive.

I'd like to avoid chain maintenance if possible, bending is still difficult.

Anybody owned one, any thoughts at all?

I would think it depends on your riding habits whether you could live with a single as your main/sole bike.

I certainly couldn't. A twin minimum.

What about the BMW 650, the twin one though, or is that an 800? I can never work out BMW's stupid designations.

(the one the borg has)

The 650 is an 800, as is the 700, except for the 650s that are 650s. Brick Wall

All chain though. The F800S/ST/GT are belt, but the S and ST are a bit leany-forwards. The GT is pretty upright.

Long distance is off the agenda for a good while, so primarily, dodging round Coventry, and probably 50 mile radius max, as at that point, pain will be becoming a problem.
That's when either the 1965, or 66 Triumph saloons will be used!

It won't be a daily, but equally, more than a sunny Sundays only.

Having owned primarily BM's, it's something that caught my eye on some classifieds.

However, I'm in no desperate rush to buy, and am open to considering other things.

But I think.i've talked myself out of an Enfield! ☺
