Actual pictures to follow when it's daylight, but it should look a bit like this:
https://www.motot.net/talli/kuvat/a/2/11359/330102_full.jpg

But probably looks in closer condition to this:
https://c1.staticflickr.com/1/111/294909173_448e7c1e3e_z.jpg?zz=1

Anyway, it's a Skyteam st150, cost 100 ponds and needs (so far):
Full fairing
Seat
Front M/C
Rear M/C (possibly just needs work)
Gear lever straightened
Side stand spring
Exhaust repaired
Air filter

The plan is to rip all the parts out/off that it doesn't need then use it for getting extremely muddy on my days off.

Will post more tomorrow

You will find that as far as spares go it will be cheaper to buy a second 150 and use the parts from that....

So now that it's daylight (with gale force winds around the lockups), I decided to have another look at the bike.
https://imgur.com/5dLoGJI.jpg
https://imgur.com/rwkGdTC.jpg

Lots of surface rust as expected.
Right pig to start, but I'm not used to kick starting bikes anyway.... and it does help when you turn the fuel tap on Embarassed
The carb is leaking fuel, the rubber leading to the engine is cracked.
The front M/C definitely needs replaces, the rear has seized but hopefully is salvageable.
There wasn't a drop of oil in the engine, but not sure if that was just drained for transport.
Engine popping occasionally (putting that down to the carb issue).
Chain seems salvageable.
Wheels and steering turn without any stiffness or notches
Kill switch isn't working, but the wiring is in such a mess I'm not surprised.
Exhaust leaking around the silencer

So the plan is to spend as little as possible fixing it, bodge as much as I can to get it running properly, find a seat and mud guards then just leave the rest of the fairings (to aid cooling obviously).... and start a proper project thread

Erm, your definitely going to want a spares bike as said if it needs as much as it looks like it does. Are these a road legal bike when complete?

If you can get it back together and working properly, it'll probably make an ok off roader for messing around on and practising your off road skills. If your going to use it hard, I'd definitely want that spares bike to raid for bits as and when you break things.

Oh and thanks for making me feel much better about my old grotty KMX 200 project, that's going to become my scruffy off roader, once I get it all thrown back together again.

Yes it runs(ish), I checked that site and even though the manufacturer is listed... the bike isn't and I'm not sure what other ones to look at.... so if you have any pointers Thumbs Up

So far it's been like trying to find hens teeth in rocking horse shit trying to find out anything about the bike let alone parts to fit it (I'll admit I know absolutely fuck all about this sort of bike though)

I haven't even started and starting to regret it

The manufacturer has outdone themselves this time.... I checked the chassis number, and if I've read it right shouldn't even exist until 2036.... which explains why it doesn't register as stolen anywhere.... yet Confused

I've only got 2 words for this..... home brew Twisted Evil

Tracer1234 wrote:

anywhere between £0 - £2000 technically..... ideally no more than I paid for it though... hence the bodging

pepperami wrote:

I once had a project that someone had run the engine without oil, I've heard a few very rattly engines in the past, I've even driven a car until it almost seized.... this engine runs very well IMO
At the end of the day.... this is a learning experience more than anything.

Anyway, the reason for the update here.... as I've mentioned, I know nothing about these bikes, so I need some help with stuff like what parts will fit from other bikes (with work if needed), how much of the loom do I realistically need if it's just going to be an off road bike (no intention of ever putting it anywhere near a road.... other than wheeling it on to a trailer)..... and after I paint it blue... should I go for the bigger front wheel or smaller back wheel Laughing
