I sure hope so, He's the only new joiner we've had recently where I'm more than 30% sure that he isn't Arcane! He's far too coherent.

Lots of good info for anyone who asks what they need to do.
And, yes, from the moment you get on the bike you are under test conditions. Our local test centre has entrance in front of bike bay. Yellow box in front of it....coming back out from pad can be dicey when learner car drivers are coming back off test.
Don't think it was too 'teflon'.

So this is as good a place as any to ask ..

I did my Mod 1 and I got no minors, I felt in control of the bike. On the first day out when I got my new bike (second hand) I got home and misjudged the angle of the pavement vs the weight of the bike.

Basically I was able to slowly lower the bike before I fell off, so no damage and no scratches but since then my confidence has been knocked a bit. I mean I'm ok out on the road, but given my riding experience totals about 30 hours including all my lessons this was shaken me a bit.

I know what I did wrong and I know not to do it again, but I'm not comfortable at slow speeds especially when turning, any tips or do I just go find a car park and practice again.

Kinda hoping my honesty and request for advice will bypass the arsehole responses this time .. Wink

What are you riding? I managed to drop my bike putting it in the shed when I slipped on sand....just off balance and bent clutch lever. I'll push it next time!
Don't worry about it and be careful next time!

And in terms of dropping it at low speeds. Don't listen to music via your new bluetooth. Razz Haha, i'm kidding, but, kinda serious, as if you dont have your blue tooth on, you can hear better what the engine is doing and adjust throttle and clutch accordingly to help momentum and maintain balance.

Pretty much, don't approach a weird camber if you can avoid it. My mate went down on his R1 years ago because the road fell away on the left, he stopped at some lights and because he wasn't too long legged, he put his leg out and the floor wasn't there, he leant further than he expected and over he went.

I dropped my bike after my foot slipped off the centre stand lever thing. I fell off my CG at 0.2 mph after using too much gas coming out of a wet junction on cold tyres.

Slow moving, for me, is loads of revs, clutch slipping and some rear brake. Seems to tighten the bike up loads, no flip flopping left to right.

Naa, I think most people have been there and dont that at one point or another. I did the same turning at slow speed on a steep hill, went to put my foot down and ground wasn't there.

Don't sweat it, I've "laid down" my Nazi Tractor a couple of times through low speed foggitry. It happens.

I once pulled up in front of a pub (sunny day, lots of people in the beer garden) went to put my foot down and as I straightened my leg, got an attack of cramp. My foot failed reach the floor, but the bike certainly didn't!

We've all done it. At least once.

As for tips ... in slow manoeuvres, always look where you want the bike to go. Not at the bike, not at the wheel and not at the ditch Wink

Still cost 600 quid to put back to 99.9% of how it was before. Mad
