Carefully vet every seller, report to eBay, add them to your blocked buyers list and hope that stops them showing as sellers, then go through page after page of listings to find the first one that might actually be located in the UK (joke option)

Slightly Related,

I ordered 2 pairs of socks from ebay (UK Seller), they arrive and one pair were the wrong style. I contacted the seller and they were difficult not being helpful in the messages then just not responding. After the set time I got eBay to refund me.

Despite ebay refunding me and the seller not replying to the message they sent this...

hi can you please get back to me
ive processed the refund on the wrong pair we sent. Ive spoken to ebay and they have told me to get in contact with yourself about arranging the wrong pair to be returned. They have mentioned if I dont hear back to get back in contact with them and they will intervene, but obviously neither of us want that. Please let me know how you would like to proceeed
thanks

I simply replied 'LOL' Laughing

It's amazing how much more effort sellers suddenly put in after eBay or PayPal have refunded you, isn't it?

Ordered an item for £12 from eBay marked as “Item location UK”. When I paid for it the payment was to a Shen Yun Kon Wong or similar so I immediately had doubts as to where the delivery was coming from. Although it said 3-5 days to deliver, sure enough when it *arrived some 12 days later it had come via China post. I logged an item not arrived case with eBay and got a full refund. I then won a brand new Richa textile jacket for £24 which man maths would suggest only really cost £12 taking into account the refund.

*It didn’t arrive really I just made it up for dramatic effect Whistle

Sigh.

Had one, location UK (Leicestershire... always Leicestershire somehow. Foreign students at DeMontfort?)

Messaged me... Can you please wait, shipping takes between 15 and 35 days, and Christmas is busy.

Reminded them that that was an unreasonable amount of time from the UK, where the item was located.

Received this piece of optimism today.

Quote:
'hello, so sorry for the delay, due to Christmas the order has increase a lot.so the logistics have a little delay,we are willing to full refund you now,but if you receive the item later, could you kindly contact and repay us?sorry for the inconvenience. thank you '

I guess they will learn the hard way.

I recant fully, Borg. These people are nuts.

Slap me thrice and hand me to me mama....

Ordered a thing from eBay on new years eve. Claimed item location of 'Middlesex, UK' with a delivery time of around 2 weeks, seller obviously chinese and registered in China.

I was fully expencing it to be shipped from the land of China.

Turned up yesterday, courtesy of Yodel. *Actually* shipped form the item location.

So not all are scammers!

The thing is, I can see both sides of it.

Praying for them to not get delivered just so you can claim the refund is shady...

Order things in good faith, get screwed, screw them back.

Order things to try and blag a free thing a week outside of their stated delivery time, that is shady... sorry boys.

I ordered a diesel air heater for our camper coversion from China but when it arrived very poorly packaged it had a broken fan.
The sellers response initially was to refund me £10 and get it repaired locally 😂. So far they are offering to send replacement parts and refund £30 after I said I would just start a claim on ebay.
Now im wondering if they are just stalling for time until I can't claim on ebay. It took 35 days to arrive in first place.. what do ??

Do it now.

Unless you want to be waiting for ages for the replacement parts to arrive (which may be broken on arrival) and then get it repaired locally (when you might discover that other parts also need replacing), ask for a full refund and accept nothing less.

My dear boy, I expect the item to be delivered - but if it claimed to come from UK, and in fact came from China (with no tracking), then as far as Ebay is concerned, it never turned up.

The penalty for lying is to send me free products.

Who has claimed t have done that since your prior post?

I was merely expressing disbelief that an item with such a long delivery period had actually coming from the UK and been delivered in a reasonable time.`

I wasn't trying to get the item for free - it cost around £60 and was something I was willing to pay that amount of money for. And I was happy to see it turn up half a week after ordering.

I even ended up stating that not all listings of this type are scams.

So pipe down on the judgemental attitude. Rolling Eyes
