My doors lock automatically when driving as well, but that wasn't my question. If you walk away from the car do they (with keyless) and when? I recall Clarkson talking about this with regards to a keyless Merc' (IIRC) that didn't lock automatically, and that when you went back to the car it was (obviously) unlocked again so you couldn't tell what was going on Laughing

On the ones I've used you still need to push a button to lock the doors. My dad did have a Renault which locked itself when you walked away from it, but he was never 100% sure it was locked.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

how much does a stolen say s1000rr go for?

wouldnt it make sense to just quit the day jobs, find a place full of rich bastards and steal their bikes to sell on...

risk factor: 0 unless they have a gun.

payoff: high

I can see the benefit of keyless entry on cars, but it's not such a big hassle to put a key in the hole and turn it.

It would at least stop people from accidentally locking their keys under the seat, which I'm told can happen <cough>

Won't stop you locking them under the seat and if you do you can't get them out but anyone could ride the bike away.

Good news on getting it back. Hackney/Islington is pretty bad lately. My advice is to ride slow as fuck if you see a red light so you're not stationary, or just stay on the clutch and be ready to ride away quickly as possible.

TWOC'd R1s can go for up to 4 grand in the northwest so it's probably similar to that

Good advice in general. I prefer to reach lights in gear with some momentum.

However, I'd say that if you spot #BakLayf, red lights should be ignored. Duress is a general defence to anything short of murder.

If they follow you through one, you at least know it's game on and can decide between fight, flight or fuggadabudit.
