This could be interesting, I have an RX-3, and I like it, so, an electric version might well prove tempting ...

OK, now that is interesting. They might actually make it work, build 200 million (or so) for the State, then sell us a couple of the side. Thinking

There might be a cheaper alternative to expensive Lithium batteries in 5-10 years called the Proton battery.

https://futurism.com/proton-battery/

The unoptimised prototype is said to be already as efficient as lithium.

I wouldn't know but a bunch of smart people seem to think so.

There's graphs, formulas and stuff here:

I suspect there's also graphs and formulas for the number of 'new battery technology's that will be ready in '5 to 10 years' Wink.

Yeah you're right there are alternatives in the works so hopefully one of these can bring costs down.

Lithium prices up 45%. £6,500 per ton in 2017 to £11,600 per ton in 2018 according to

Hope is not a strategy.

Lithium will not scale.

I hope Zongshen will prove me wrong.

A wise plan Wink

Interestingly a criminal organisation known as Morgan Stanley claiming Lithium prices will fall 45% by 2021 due to Chile's production.

Can't provide a direct link as it's behind a Financial Times paywall but it can be accessed through a web search.

Probably had to push them back to the charging point after that. Rolling Eyes

And why the limitations? You can bet your bottom dollar that it's not because they are lovey dovey manufacturers who don't want you to hurt yourselves if you fall off.

More likely because the energy consumption is in the equivalent region of Lily Allen's vodka consumption and the result is pretty similar as well.

Zero recalls all 2012 bikes because of explodey-fire.

But, but, old models.

But, but, buy a new model, and you'll eventually have to try and sell an old model.

To be fair only affects 200 odd bikes, I guess they didn't sell many of the 2012 models... Wink

Zero are offering to buy back the affected 2012s.

Good news, everyone! Erik Buell has come to do for practical electric bikes what he did for Harley and EBR!

Because when you think of cheap and simple to produce mass market transportation, of course you think Buell. Laughing
