how to undo battery thats been fitted wrong?

If its one of them typical battery bolts with a cross in the head
I'd use a screwdriver to jam the nut below
( wipe any poo off it first if you've been following previous instructions)

then gently use a good sharp 10mm drill to create a 'crater' in the cross
which would help centre a 6mm bit and allow it to cut without jamming
Once the head's off poke the rest out with a stick

the screw driver nut thing was the problem it wouldn't jam even when I put the shaft in as well

next size up flat head wouldn't fit inside the terminal

hence cutting side out and getting a spanner on it
