Just says "seized", maybe they forgot to pre-mix.

I'd imagine an inventive and eccentric owner rather than #BakLayf. Still, dem kittens.

I'd like to have a proper look at that - it looks like someone's engineering project, rather than a bodged together Frankenstein's monster.
Be interesting to see how much difference it made on the road too - presumably something like a 26cc engine; it's hardly in the league of a chavved up corsa.

Pretty sure its a strimmer - not sure if better or worse for jokes.
It's hard to see how assisting with a tiny engine is an offence but electric motor assisted bikes are encouraged.

I was going to say exactly that. It looked like a project and not a motorcycle. But its easier for plod to catch him than a real crim.

To my mind that should be a "walk it home and don't let me catch you with it on the road again".

Many moons ago, I bought a 'Golden Eagle bike engine' kit to go on my mountain bike - it was noisy as hell but good fun.
The police saw me more than once, but zero fucks were given.

They saw you doing something, and they could have stopped you, but they didn't stop you?

Something I have been pondering, electric bike, 250 watt motor and 16mph design speed all nice and legal.
25 CC engine on push bike, driving wheel. Illegal.
However, what is the position if you have a small internal combustion engine that drives a small generator, which charges the battery? If everything else is as per current legal specification would this arrangement be seen as a range extender, or a kitten killing chariot?

Cheers

That's... a really good question, actually. Thinking

The EAPC definition only talks about having pedals, the electric motor power, and the assisted speed limit, so I can't see where you're running foul of that.

In practice though, if you're going to go to that amount of trouble, would you really stick to a 250W motor?

For one thing, if you're being clever, you'd notice that it's 250W "continuouse RATED power", which has at least two dimensions worth of wriggle-room in it.

I'd prefer some kind of fuel cell running off propane.
The cheapish generators I've seen have tried to rattle themselves to death like a small demon was trying to escape from inside. Unless you went higher quality or a custom build.

Absolutely NOTHING stopping you wearing a paramotor engine on your back while riding a pushbike.

Just saying.
