Bought a smashed iphone 5 for £20.00 and paid by paypal. Accidentally paid via friends and family as it was the default when i went through the app and now the guy is blanking me and I can't reverse the payment.

FB shows that he's seen my messges but he's not responding. His facebook page looks legit and he's local to me if it is. Fucking hate thieves so much, I want to fuck his life up a bit to teach him a lesson.

It says he works in the Slug and Lettuice, how long should I wait before phoning them and finding out when he's working? Be nice to find his address and order fuck loads of pizza to his front door.

Had the same thing happen to me. I bought something for £150 off gumtree, sent payment through PayPal on my tablet, luckily it didn't send as a gift which I probably would have done had I seen the option (being a bit of an idiot/too trusting/butthurt over fees when I sell stuff).

Bought another bit off him for £30, sent payment as a gift, he went full Dave G/Tritey every time I chased him about it. Got the guys address but figured it wasn't worth wasting time on a time waster.

tl;dr Trust no one even if they seem trustworthy.

Not feeling quite as pissed off today. The guy was talkative as fuck before he got my money. Going to see what information I can squeeze out of his Facebook using a fake clone account to trap him.

I have a feeling he's living in India though, seems to have a lot of family in Bangladesh.

I'm sure I'll get bored after a while, but it will be interesting what info I can gather in the mean time

Why pay by paypal if you're buying something from someone locally on facebook? Confused

The pizza thing isn't as straightforward as it used to be since Hungryhouse finally fixed their website after years of it being open to abuse. Sad

It's local'ish. Still 40min drive away so couldn't be fucked to go see them in person and have kids and shit to deal with at home so don't have the time to go messing about.

It's just easier.

It's not a nice thing... but seriously put it into perspective. It's £20.

Chalk it up to experience and think meh as life is too short for trivialities such as this.

I got scammed a potential £70 the other day for a bike part. Guy grabbed it jumped into his car and drove off.

I was angry for a bit and thought meh.

Probably some Indian guy in India so likely nothing will come of it. I fucking hate thieves so much. I'm not a violent person but it really pisses me off when people scam/steal from you.

Only £20.00 but it's put me in a foul mood. Been simmering all morning.

That's part of the problem. Hate, rage and anger are destructive and do nothing.

It's like drinking poison and hoping it hurts the other person.

If I were you I'd just hold a pre-BCF barbecue and you'd make it back ten fold Wink

Yeah you're probably right.

I'm still in the 'angry for a bit' phase.

Here's some which are more likely to arrive than ones from facebook scammers. Wink

An old work buddy of mine sold a very expensive (£1500) keyboard synthesizer thingy on Ebay.

guy paid through paypal and asked if he could collect it in person.

Turned up - left - all good.

3 days later it turns out the guy complained to Paypal that he hadnt received it in the post so Paypal took the £1500 back off him until he could prove he sent it (which he couldnt - because he didnt).

Luckily there was CCTV available of the guy walking back to his car with the keyboard under his arm so it was fairly simple to resolve.

Scamming gits though

Did you report it to the police? Shocked £20-30 I can put down to experience, particularly if it's interwebs and there's a lesson learnt, but someone robbing you IRL's a bit different.

Laughing

I was going to say either do something, or forget it. Anything in-between is wasted energy and emotion.
