a long while back i posted about selling our house.
well just now we have given authority to our solicitors to exchange.

I wont bore you with all the shit except to say that I will now have a garage. the rest of the house is the wife's concern.

unfortunately it will require a commute from Sittingborne along the A2 into Londinistan......

the wife has been worried sick thinking we would never move.
she is now worried sick as we are moving.

Apologies. I've moved out of "Shittingbourne" and towards London because dat stabbing and theft rate. It's not much better here but the commute costs a bomb.

Be wary, both the A2 and A249 are dire between 7am and 7pm. From my 1.5 years in the death zone, I saw at least 10 bikes in accidents as they are both badly laid out this end of town.

Don't leave your bike unlocked at all... If you do, head to Murston or Milton Regis to find the remains.

Hopefully, try to enjoy your new house, but I'd never advocate moving there, once you pass the roundabout splitting Newington with Scumland, you know about it.

Plus the M2, which currently has a 40mph limit.
Also the M2/A249 and roundabout will soon have more road works for improvement of the junction and roundabout, which will most probably turnout just like the M25/A13 with no improvement and to be honest no real change.

There's a point beyond which it makes more sense to commute by train than bike. 100 miles or so round trip commute every day is well into that territory IMO. Consider that train time doesn't have to be idly wasted.

Happy now, yes.

Can I ask, why the move to Sittingbourne? There are closer links to London with far less commute and much nicer surroundings. It's not somewhere I'd choose to live again due to the ruffians causing hassle and the monumental amounts of shady drug deals Laughing

The MIL lives in Rainham (on the A2) and my wife is her only child.
It was always our intention to move closer to her.

both my wife and i were born in London and have lived here our whole lives. for the last 20+ years we have lived in a terrace house on the border of Streatham/Croydon.. My teen years were spent living with my grandparents on an estate in Brixton and in/out of foster care.

where are are moving from is not a brilliant place.
its got as much crime/scum/drugs as anywhere else you can think of in London.

you cant park for love nor money... our road is the first free parking as you hit the borough of Lambeth on the A23 from Croydon.
We live opposite a Hidi temple , Norbury Islamic temple is behind us and St Barts church one road up.
Some times we have to park 2/3 roads away.....
add to this our road is the first road off the A23 toward Mitcham so is contently busy with traffic looking to avoid the A23.

a large % of the houses in our road/area are rental.
on a weekly basis there are mattresses, bust up wardrobes, peoples shit just dumped on the pavement.
a hundred meters down our road is a very nice block of flats which is mainly housing tennets on the dole.
Some of them thinks its perfectly acceptable to chuck dirty nappys out of the window in the hope the land somewhere close to a bin.

My point is that we have lived in all this shit for a long time
and now we are moving to a very nice house in Kemsley.
its in a quite road... on the several occasions we visited the area there where no beds in the street or wardrobes dumped on the corner.

We knocked on several doors and the people where all very nice.

on top of that the house is lush and we will own it outright.

Stop pissing on my chips already.

Not pissing on your chips, 5 minutes down the road towards Newington would have been same, if not less. That's fact, it's also got a much safer train station. The commute will be long and I'd highly recommend checking the travel before you leave, every day. It'll be fine one way and when you get in the car, pile up.

I'm fully aware of Kemsley, it's where I dug my ped out of a field because rudeboyz robbin.

I wish you all the best, but from someone who has spent his entire life within 10 miles of the new place of residence, not just asked around, there's only a few places I'd go to near there. Steer clear of Swale way and the country park, unless needles over the floors and rocks being launched at you is your ting.

In the nice new area of Sittingbourne. Where some houses cost half a million. Where the ratings are through the roof.

https://imgur.com/a/a4Ux0

Should add, behind my previous house there were communal rubbish areas, there were 2 sexual assaults there, in a month.. I took to taking the bins out because my then partner was a no-no.

I'm not trying to piss on you, but you have to understand. It's a fucking dive. If you'd have asked on here before looking, you'd have the same response. Even a small family I know and work with that lives there, other side of Sittingbourne, have lived there since childhood are moving because it's becoming Albania mk2.

That was for my single postcode, which was a road that was about.... ooooh 15 houses long. Sad

Person per crime, sittingbourne is worse. You are closer to the border, you are directly off the lower end of the A2 so you get proper eastern europeans casing the joint.

Give it some time, you might get on well there. You might realise I'm right and people would rather not move there Wink

So in a single month for a row of 15 houses there was

8 burglary's - so either every other house was broken into or some poor sods got broken into multiply times in a single month

42 acts of criminal damage
whats left to damage ?

20 acts of shop lifting
I looked at the post code you gave on google maps and there don't appear to be any shops.

106 acts of violence and sexual assaults.
in one month along a row of 15 houses.
that's between 3 and 4 attacks every day in a 30 meter stretch of road ?

not really likely is it Paddy ?
