I was eliminating possible causes. I know you did it, I was pointing out it couldn't be that serious, but it might be down to the fact it has new thin oil in it. Razz

He only had a litre so I topped it off with 20w50, all I had to hand.

I didn't notice anything untoward whilst running it to ensure oil and water tightnessy

Quick update:

OP has been in touch and shown me pictures of C/S set and replacement spindle and nut, all ready to fit.

I'll be going over there on Saturday. My plan is to provide guidance rather than just put the stuff on. obviously, if necessary I will take over.

Job jobbed.
If I find out what fucking gorilla did up the rear sprocket nuts I'll remove his with prejudice. It took 20 minutes to undo them. Impact driver didn't cut it so we took turns belting a spanner with my medium hammer (didn't think I'd need the 2lb lump hammer so didn't take it) to get them off.

Photos to follow but someone recklessly offered me 20 quid. I took it and am now in the pub.....
