I’m sure it’s been done before but I need to ask.
I’ve got an old tatty CM 250 t that I was given ages ago.
It’s sat in my yard for a couple years.

I was given the bike, but the V5/log book was missing.

So, my questions are oh mighty BCF , is it a good idea to apply for a new V5/log book after such a length of time?
Will I get stung if apply now or would it be more prudent to just chop it up for spares?

Thanks for any help Thumbs Up

My cx hadn't had a v5 and hadnt moved put of the garage for for 28 years. I had no trouble getting a new one. I just gave them the back story of how I came about it.

I'd tell them you bought it yesterday. You're applying for the logbook as a new owner.

I'd had a bike with no papers in my garage for 10+ years. Admittedly it came from a family member, so I knew it wasn't pinched etc.

I told them no back story whatsoever, but simply filled in a V62 stating I'd bought it the day before. Packed it off to Swansea with my £25, and got a shiny new V5c a couple of weeks later.
