I've not borrowed a penny for my current studies. I grafted like mad for the preceding 9 months, and refused to spend any money unless totally necessary.

Or the 9 years working life between my batchelors and my current masters, with almost constant sacrifice to maintain positive cash position in extreme circumstances. It still beat coming back to the UK to pay the government tithe while working at Greggs.

Now, tell me again how you earnt the massive increase your state house, sold to you for a pittance, has entitled you.

My generation work for a living instead of hiding away in education for as long as possible, whilst living on borrowed money which they have no intention of paying back.

Oh no, when he does extra learning from the O-levels base line, he is bettering himself.

When others do it, they are simply avoiding responsibilities and adulthood.

You also have to wonder why he is so nonchalant re historical abuse claims, and doesn't criticise tax dodging. Thinking

Is this the same generation that not only had their tuition fees at university paid but were also given maintenance grants (a thing not even dreamed of in this day and age?)

Where has this idea of the previous generation "pulling itself up by it's bootstraps" come from? Especially when state welfare had never been so high as when they were growing up; education, healthcare, prescriptions, infrastructure (public transport, roads etc) all saw vastly increased spending. This most independent-minded and self sufficient generation came up on unprecedented levels of state spending (ie debt).

Nothing necessarily wrong with that, but let's not pretend that this is the first generation ever to get support from elsewhere.

The Cambridge Guide to English Usage notes that the "pressure to substitute fewer for less seems to have developed out of all proportion to the ambiguity it may provide in noun phrases like less promising results". It describes conformance with this pressure as a shibboleth and the choice "between the more formal fewer and the more spontaneous less" as a stylistic choice.[10]

I'm sure much people would agree with you but in the end it comes down to how many you care about the issue.

CSB - One of my high school Science teachers, when writing up on the board, made spelling mistakes such as '[...]the cat would role up[...]'
I took delight in pointing that out to her. Laughing

Alright smart-arses, you shall be punished.

Behold this mastery in linguistics, in full glory.

Comparing the archaic grammarians fewer (evolving out of common use swiftly) with many and much, actual basic cornerstones of English sentence composition.

How very dare you, and your strawman.
