Keep seeing little stickers of a Union Jack but black cross?

I keep seeing these versions of the Union Jack with a black George Cross on them stuck on lampposts. Is there any significance to them? Neo nazi stuff i was thinking.

The opposite, actually. It was proposed by black activist, political ativist and broadcaster Darcus Howe https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Darcus_Howe with the intent to remove the negative associations normally perceived by some sections of society, of the flag of st george, and by association, the union flag. (ie, racist, or colonialism)

As I perceive it, it is not intended to replace the union flag,it merely suggests that the local authority/individual is aware of racism, and is trying to redress certain issues.

Remember White Poppies, years ago? they weren't trying to denigrate the victims of war, but it's futility. It was hugely misunderstood.

Why do they still use the flag with the Saint Patrick's Saltire anyway? This would be more apt:

I realise incorporating N.Ireland's a thorny issue, but surely incorporating the whole of Ireland (despite there being a republic) is even more insensitive?

There was an apparently genuine campaign a few years back to introduce black into the union jack as a counter to this.

I really couldn't give a rat's arse whether somebody wants to place stickers of the union flag with a bit of black in it on lamp posts. It doesn't make any difference to anybody, nor does it imply that white people are guilty of the sins of their great, great grandfathers.

They will likely be worn by very different people, for very different reasons. But I actually don't mind any of these, as long as they are seen as an indication that the wearer identifies with the UK (a form of patriotism), just not as a replacement for the traditional flag.
