I never do it, cos usually insta-cramp in hip

When I'm leading a trail ride on a bike without indicators I sometimes signal a right turn with my leg, to the riders behind but as I'm standing cramp doesn't happen

In the UK 'Code' As you approach a narrowing in the road you can signal that you will give way to an oncoming vehicle by flashing your head lamps. The person, you have shown courtesy to, will then proceed and in return, acknowledge your kind gesture with a short hand-up-to-the- windscreen, a nod or sticking a leg out. (You can't always see the leg out one though.)

West African 'Code': if you see someone approach a narrowing in the road you hold your lights on main beam and barrel through.
Flashing your lights there give you right of way. Shocked

In racing it signifies you're leaving the racing line or entering the pits.

Or, if the hips, torso, arms, other leg and head joins the leg being removed from the bike; the rider has high-sided spectacularly and they are signifying to you they are busy having an uncontrolled dismount and you ought to watch the fuck out motherfuckerrrrr.

That's still no excuse not to wave a thank you though.
