Does make me laugh inside....small bikes are easier to handle nonsense.
Could go a bit Teflon on this. But won't.
You'll catch a lighter bike and injure yourself more than the overall lifetime cost of dropping it can repay. A broken scapoid is a cnut to fix.
When you drop your first 'big bike...youve lost a bit of ego and a lever.

Eh? People have sustained serious injuries from dropping a bike (leg breaks etc).

I never managed to drop a bike but had a similar situation on the first day of riding on my own after passing the CBT. I tried to do a U-turn on a slight slope and misjudged balancing skills.... had to do a split to save the bike from dropping. Luckily my 125 is only 140kg and I did not hurt myself, cause when I touched the ground my foot slipped away at first, even if speed was around 2-3mph.

Module 1 exam was the last time I tried a U-turn after this situation, and after situation forces me to do it, I'm not planning one again on a tight road.

I think I have done maybe 2 U-turns since I passed my test last December. Most of the time I could have achieved the same by using the roads, I was just being lazy. It's an odd skill to insist on having for the test, the level of control required is good, but the manoeuvre is such a rare one. Plus you can put your feet down in the real world Razz
