Greenwich MPS have it.

Thing is, if they can't figure out who it belongs to, how do you prove it is yours? Now where did I park my R1?

I always thought this - but in reality, I don't have a better suggestion.

Remember, the police don't get to see any of this.

And the places that provide the service; while not-impossible there might be some backhanders to get the lucrative contracts...
They do have to provide a pretty decent service, including forensics bays for the police to use and so on.

Thank you for the idea, local yahama dealer has tried & unfortunately this bike doesn’t have the capability to plug into a diagnostic system.

2009 model and no plug-in diagnostics? I'm surprised. (Although my newest bike is a 2003 R1 so I wouldn't know.)

Might be a composite of several bikes reassembled, hence hard to trace back, perhaps.[/quote]

It is at least two bikes made in to one but all numbers have been removed.
