Track spec YO!

Single disc front brakes - but hey it's a petal.

It's another sporty looking commuter isn't it. No bad thing if cheap. I doubt it will be though and deluded owners trying to punt them on will want mad dollar.

Think it's expected to retail somewhere around £6K

That's about MT07 priced isn't it? Or CBR500RR?

I'd have one as a cheap second hand machine perhaps.

I know it's not the lightest, but with that power and weight I'd prefer a single disc over twin for simplicity and reduced rotating mass.

I'll pick one up cheap in about 5 years, if they ever sell any.

looks good actually. 33.4KW so near as dammit the A2 limit and 174KG giving power/weight of 0.192KW/KG, again, near as dammit the max allowable.

That's a fair bit up on the R3 or the old Ninja 300 and actually a bit up on the CBR500rr as well (marginally less power, but lighter giving better p/w).

Should 'officially' be the most powerful A2 'sportsbike' money can buy (except the KTM390 which is the same spec but more money and less comfort), which always goes down well wid da yoof.

Commuter spec, but no worse than competitors and presumably similar price to the current 'high end' A2 stuff like the -07 or the CBR500rr.

I'd seriously consider one if I was starting my A2 again today, assuming it was less to buy than the -07.

There is a distinct lack of new affordable bikes and pitching that in at £5999 wouldn't help.
Guess PCP rulz in these climes.

It does, actually.

It's a bored out 300 which is a bored out 250. It's even lighter than my racebike, while producing about 80% of the torques of a GPZ500S.

£6K though, no chance. Damn Brexit.

Is it really still the gpz250r Base motor, bored out further still? Shocked

I thought the 300 was the limit of its capacity potential?
It does look like they've swapped Revs for torque by going much bigger for just 4-5bhp. Maybe too many newbies were buying the CBR 500R cos it's easy and tractable to ride in its modern castrated state.

So Kawasaki are giving everything new the H2R alien face look too? Not so sure making all their bikes ugly is the best way to go but ugly chiselled faces seem to sell bikes and cars these days.

I still think the 300 was a good motor, it just needed the cams changing back to GPZ spec and an aggressive ECU map. Then it should have been mounted into an Aprilia RS 125 chassis and I think there'd be a great bike there!
Almost a homage to the arms race days of having ultra trick 250's/400's in the my dick's bigger than yours era.

Bloody A2 legislation and it's damn power to weight limits!

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I think it looks decent enough, but I like angular stuff, and never was a fan of the melted chocolate looking bikes of the 00's.

I believe the 300 was new, and they've developed on that. It is a big capacity jump though, I'd be a bit wary about them pushing it too far. Shades of the Gpz305...
