So this is a little shot in the dark and I guess unlikely but.

Does anyone know of an app or a website where you can put a registration plate in and get a purchased bike specification? I.e if that bike has abs or not etc - I suppose with a shipped spec.

Just looking for my first real bike which will be used and obviously not knowing everything about everything I would find it handy to compare models against price. [/i]

Nope. Who would have that information, since (e.g.) ABS has been optional on many bikes for years, and nobody has been recording whether it was fitted or not to individual bikes.

https://motorcyclespecs.co.za is as reasonable a place as any to start for general info, although it tends to list Septic models and weights are randomly wet or dry.

I'd still trust it over MCN.

+1 for motorcyclespecs.co.za I've used it a lot. Also putting in a bike model and year to images can be useful if a colour/paint job doesn't look right.
