The new ''affordable'' Norton.
The engine is a in house desing by Simon Skinner and there will be three versions. One turbocharged 175 hp engine and two naturally aspirated engines with 100 hp and 70hp. The engine shares many parts with the V4 Norton used earlier. For instance, the engine head is the same as those on the V4. So, it's not a ER6 variant.
There will be two versions of this motorcycle, one for the road use and one ''off road''. The chief of the Norton company, Stuart Garner, says the new 650 is supposed to be a motorcycle for every day use, unlike their other models, and the price tag of the base model (70hp, I suppose) should be about £10,000. He also says, if the scrambler version sells well enough, we may expect a sports version very soon after the launch.
They do not say what bikes should have the 100hp and 175hp engine variants. They do mention though, that the hypotetical sports version should have the 100hp engine and only 140kg dry weight. Which does sound interesting.

I do like that. Then again, I liked the other Nortons as well, especially the black and gold one.
Would I like one, yes.
Would I put my own money down on the table ____________________ Triumph Trophy Launch Edition |

Subframe looks weak.
Even though the engine is used as a stressed member the chassis also looks 'pliable'.
Tank appears to be dented and small.
Swingarm looks ...Triumph triple.
Ergonomically it's sending mixed messages.
