Hi guys,

Any help would be hugely appreciated, i've run dry on my limited knowledge!

I've got to the tail end of my build, i've put a pod filter on and an after market slip on exhaust.

Which i've accounted for with bigger main jet and bigger pilot get and stepped the needle up too.

main jet was 102.5 now is 107.5
pilot jet was 35 now is 50

But the bike wont start without the throttle rolled slightly, as soon as i let go it dies.

I've had a play with the pilot screw and still get no luck.

the bike is a Suzuki gn 125

cheers

danny

oh ok, didn't realise!
I followed a guide that suggested with the new filter and exhaust

increasing main by 5 and pilot by 2.5, now after looking for the new pilot size it went up in sizes of 5s e.g.. 35, 40, 45, 50.

you think it would be worth going back down to the 35 pilot jet?

Not sure it has a throttle slide adjuster, I'll have a look tonight though!

thanks for the reply!

That's a tiny increase on the main and a massive increase on the pilot.

When you lift the throttle, you're also lifting the slide letting more air in. It could be too rich at the bottom end, not too lean.

OK my experience is mainly 2T, but just removing the inner trumpet of the standard airbox pushed mains from 230 to 320 but pilot from only 25 to 27.5.

I'd try a smaller pilot and raise the throttle slide a bit, by the cable adjuster if it has one of throttle stop screw.

I'd start at 35 on the pilot and work up if it doesn't pull at low to 1/3 throttle.

There must be a way of raising the throttle slide, maybe by adjusters on the cable?

Ok! I'll give that a shot!

My carb is a CV carb not a slide carb? That means I can adjust the butterfly bit inside? and not the slide?

I did read about replacing the slide with a bigger cut away slide? to effect the low to 1/3 throttle position. Currently mine doesn't have any sort of cut away on it. This could be something to look at?

cheers
