I own one, WildGoose has owned one, DukeRed owns one, Dusty owns the 650cc version.
It will certainly stay in one piece through winter, it'll stay in one piece for all of its life, very hardy machines, not much breaks.
I paid £650 for mine with 24,000km and in good condition, this however was a bargain, WildGoose sold his for around £800, so look to be paying £650 - £850. For anything over £850 you should really be able to get a MarkII BROS, newer and with different wheels.
All in all, a good, reliable, first bike or winter hack that'll take anything you throw at it. The handling isn't fantastic, but then it's not a sportsbike. You can quite happily get your knee down on it though.
www.wemoto.com is a fantastic site for the BROS, you can buy hundreds of spares online, even little annoying things like bolts you have lost, I've used them numerous times, goose has used them around a hundred thousand times for various bits.

I have a BROS 650 product one. Pretty much excellent around town. Small enough to slip past berstard taxi drivers. big enough to feel safe. Tough, yep - it's parked 5 days a week outside in the Edinburgh rain. DOn't get a bike that you can't get wet. ....mine rests in a dry garage at the weekend though. Has enough grunt to be fun. My BROS is a minter and everyone is surprised its an '88 bike. I wouldn't part with it for anything less than a grand.
Get the 650 if you can. Parts are fairly cheap - but folk seem to be paying over the odds for bros bits on ebay at the moment sometimes its cheaper to buy the bike than it's components parts!!
Good luck - if you do get a BROS let us see it. ____________________ **** Don't ride faster than your angel can fly Get this Free Space
