Hey Guys,

Just a quick one, I have just purchased a BMW R1150GS when giving it a clean I noticed that both fork stations rotate in place, I have checked the top of them and it is all tight, I've never owned a BMW before.

Is this normal or do I need to get it checked out ?

Thanks

Jack

The chrome part of the forks, I popped the little plastic cap off on the yoke and the but in there is tight, but if I grab the chrome bit of the fork and turn it the whole thing turns and the nut spins also, on my hornet and bandit this would have been bad, dunno if this just the way it's meant to be, il take some photos in a bit.

Thanks

Seem to remember a recall on killer forks on these....... Could be a different model so don't panic. Mind you, if it is your model.... Panic!

Just had a quick Google and it looks like the recall was on the 1200gs but the 1150 did have a recall on certain models regarding the length of the brake lines.

Looking at online images it seems the 1150gs has some kind of bush between the top yoke and forks, so it might be perfectly normal.

Like Pete said, they have some kind of rubber bush affair that would probably allow it to rotate.
