While I am certainly not a condoner of abusing women,

Person of the Year: Time honours abuse 'silence breakers'

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-42254219

Is this 'jump on the bandwagon' journalism? A 'look at us being so PC' exercise by Time?

If it was about some of the kids abused by Savile, the grooming gangs or similar who haven't got a voice I would be all for it, but Taylor Swift having her ass pinched?

Well done Time Rolling Eyes

I'm sure it's not at all about the public discussion this will cause raising their profile and increasing sales.

Vaguely related, a few years back we had a job applicant for a mid-seniority technical post who actually put on his CV that he was Time magazine's person of the year 2006 Rolling Eyes

Sounds a bit shit anyway if you look at previous 'winners': In 2014, "Ebola fighters" were recognised while in 2011 "The Protester" acknowledged the significance of the so-called Arab Spring.

So that stupid woman who knowingly brought back a contagious disease and nearly died twice? Or protesters getting rid of the devil they knew and ending up worse off? Clapping

No, but it gave a good indication of the sort of person he was. That and he blogged about coming to the interview, what had happened at the interview, his impression of the company and all the interviewers - before he heard whether he'd got it or not. He was actually quite positive about the company in general and hopeful to get the job. He was disappointed.

Memorable, apparently. You need something on a CV to distinguish it among the pile.
