I know im going to get a lot of ridicule saying it here but yeah. I failed my Mod1 today... My nerves really did just get the better of me... I lost it right away on the slarlem legs went to jelly lost throttle control and foot went to the ground...

Told the tester, he asked if i wanted to continue, I said ok might as well practise did the slow crawl fine but u turn........ legs jelly again and foot went down. By that point I just said I should stop...

So yeah fluffed that right up...

Im scheduled in to redo the test this time next week.

Brother passed and hes doing his mod 2 this time next week.......

Such a stupid mistake, I know Im capable of doing it and I did it plenty of times during practices but nerves really did get to me :/

Anyone else here fail the mod 1?

It's just nerves. Now you know what to expect, it'll be easier.

Also, drink 4, 1L bottles of scotch beforehand to relax.

I can always manage tight turns andslow riding without putting a foot down, always.

Except, yesterday,when I didn't manage it. Embarassed

Doubt anyone noticed, and if they did they wouldn't care, and I wasn't taking a test so it didn't matter, but I wobbled around the road coming out of Tesco for a couple moments and dabbed my foot down.

Whatever you do, don't obsess over having already bought a bike and it just sitting there rusting and depreciating away and likely to be stolen before you even ride it. Don't let it prey on your mind, try not to think about it at all, over and over and over until you can't focus on anything else.

You're better than most people on here, you got through your CBT unlike most of this forum who couldn't even do that on an automatic, never mind Mod 1 on a manual. Just relax go again in a week or so and get going again.

I nearly hit the guy with the red flag on my test. Apparently it was only a minor...

I failed my first mod 1, apparently my rear wheel locked for an inch or two in the emergency stop - my instructor barely noticed it, looking on from a few metres away, thought it was harsh. To counteract that, I practiced not pulling in the clutch until the last moment.

Better luck next time. You ought to be a little bit more relaxed, knowing what to expect.

Really? Back in the 90's it was okay provided you released and re-applied the brake.

My instructor insisted on me going around because 'you haven't locked the back wheel yet' in practise.

Threw the fucking thing sideways at him on the next loop.....

Unlucky OP.

Just try to relax next time and make sure you carry on until the end - even if you know you’ve failed! You’ve paid the money, you may as well finish for the practice.

Next time; deep breaths, relax and treat everything seperately.

Good luck!
