Not sure of the context of your comment...

2005 SUZUKI GSX-R600 - IMMACULATE LOW MILEAGE

Here we have something special a truely stunning Suzuki GSX-R600 with only 5200 miles since new and just the one owner. The bike is as standard except for the addition of a tinted front screen and MTC end can. Complete with 2 Keys, Owners Manual, Service book. This bike will not be around for long at this price and you will struggle to find a cleaner bike.

OP, good call on not buying that one. Unusual for someone to actually follow the advice of BCF. Thumbs Up

Does sound like it has been on track from the spotless fairings at that age. But to be honest how much harder can it be ridden on track than a lot of people ride on the road. On the road there will be considerably more wear on parts like the suspension.

Suspension parts are generally easier to replace, and likely cheaper overall.

It's more the fact that the engine and drivetrain have spent a much larger percentage of their current life at wide-open throttle, or there abouts and therefore under much greater forces. Not to mention mistimed throttle blips, and much more aggressive downshifts that are more likely to happen on a track bike than a road bike.

Being a track bike previously might also mean fuelling and whatnot has been fucked about with. Not necessarily a bad thing as getting a power commander with your bike would be a great little addition. But if it's mapped for high-end power on the track but OP spend's 70% of his time bimbling around in the mid-range then it's not going to be running as well as it ought to. Pure speculation of-course, but a point worth thinking about.

"Immaculate" seems to be a default word to go in advert titles from dealers.

I vague translation would be "It works 100% of the time, 50% of the time!!"

Nice choice of bike! Couldn't be happier about buying mine.

On the road there will be considerably more wear on parts like the suspension. I know people that have ridden track bikes back on the road for years. And chances are it will have been looked after if someone has been riding it on track as they probably had more time to spend on it than they would have if it had been a commuters bike.

Enjoy your new bike!

Cant believe how these bikes are holding their value.

Years ago I sold my k4 750 for £3k. Jesus.

Well... prices of new bikes have gone up by quite a bit.. so no surprise older bikes hold their value.
I'm happy with my Fireblade and I don't think I'll be selling mine any time soon, but I can get for it pretty much what I paid for it years ago.
