We can all think of exceptions, but pub says they mostly draw far less customers?

I'm reluctant to watch female fronted rock acts, they always seem to be trying a bit too hard to be bad ass. Rolling Eyes
Rock/metal has always been a male dominated genre, both in terms of audience and performers. As a young lad in
the rock clubs the half handful of fit girls on the scene had the pick of the fellas due to this bias. The rest were unfortunately
hard drinking monsters that weren't too dissimilar from the fellas tbh and I reckon they were mainly into the scene because
even they were in demand due to this bias, when in any other scene they would remain lonely and unfucked.

tl:dr Most real life rock chicks munt. So IMO they rock for cock.

Maybe in the shoddy rock you listen to... One of my favourite bands has had 2 front women...

https://youtu.be/UNPKGyYzPCo

https://youtu.be/nEUayPRyF-Y

Has more power than most male vocalists Laughing

I don't listen to pussy shit though in terms of rock anymore, it needs to have a chunky guitar and a bit of aggression.

Sorry Paddy, but I managed 10 seconds of the first link before my eyes rolled and I closed the page.
Like I said, trying WAY too hard to be a bad-ass. Band was technically great but not my cuppa. I'm more into
melody than technical ability, didn't hear much of that tbh. Maybe it's a young guy thing? I'm way past the days
of trying to be 'considerably more metal than yow.'. Slayer/Sepultura/Soulfly is about my limit.

What's next, a strip club owner bans male strippers in his club, saying his mostly male customers just don't enjoy watching other men swinging their cocks around? Breaking news?!Thinking

Actually talented vs some of their more mainstream counterparts. They might argue that at their level there are too few, an outright ban though, possibly trying to court controversy.

Was pretty cool and possibly valid. She is a strong singer anyway judging from her earlier work. I think a lot of guys who do that style are not natural singers. An odd exception was fear factory back in the day.

For me, it's just the same with women as men. Some I like, some I don't. I don't dislike because they're women. And I would probably like more women rock singers if there were more women rock singers Laughing

I like:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EMfpQtBLWn0

I don't necessarily mean the chick in the vid. either (but... Drooling).

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BQpZv2r8fb4

^^she was brought up on a diet of heavy rock from the 80s and 90s. I think it's great to see any young folk who are into that, and better still to see them following in the tradition.

Not strictly rock, she started out more pure blues, but does have a blues/rock inclination:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3DMP2YDXVJg

Or how about:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0UaDlZr_Crs

I'm not so into female screamers, as you can probably tell from the above, but to outright ban female rock singers is a nonsense imo.

Some of you need to prepare for a shock before reading this:

Rock ain't just metal Shocked

Gentlemen, I give you......

Shirley Manson - Garbage

Wendy James - Transvision Vamp

There's not a straight man alive over the age of 35 who didn't have a crush on one or the other, usually both.

Come to think of it, it may not have been the music tho Thinking

I'm going to have to disqualify myself from sensible opinion in this thread by mentioning my favourite female singers (with or without the concept of rock being involved):

Cher
Grace Jones
Debbie Harry (see above)
Gaga
Shrieky bollocks from Iceland
Grace Slick

But then I'm more your sort of Gin Wigmore/Caro Emerald/Lorde/Elle King kind of girl Thinking

(I like women with funky, unusual voices)
But not like Paddy's example Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing

Nah, she's just lip-synching with the ginger hippy at the back Cool

(So it's a death growl - who knew? Christ, I've turned into my Dad. Again.

I'm sticking to Ed Sheeran for my choice of ginger hippy this week.

Heart - I love their music.

What about Roxette, does that count as rock?

Or Wilson Phillips?

Then there's Mama Cass!
