Just bought myself a (stationary) exercise bike, which came with a free 2-year subscription to an "iFit" fitness program, along with the necessary wearable hardware. Now, I'd never heard of iFit before (it had no bearing on my buying decision), and I don't know whether I even want to get involved with it, but hey, it's here and at no cost so I reckon I may as well try it out.

Thing is, I've been sent two separate but similar looking boxes (same package) of gizmos - one is called "iFit Link" and the other is "iFit Vue" and I don't quite get what's going on with them. Before I open them up and start learning what's what, I'm hoping someone who's familiar with this kit can advise. I don't understand why I have two gadgets - are they for different purposes?

I'm guessing that the Vue is an updated version of Link, and that I have no need of Link (but if so, why did they send it?). If I don't need it it I'll not waste any time looking into it, and probably just bung it on eBay as brand new...

Fair enough. But you also didn't need mobile phones, laptops, the Internet, CDs, digital cameras, Prozac, HD TV, iPads, microwave ovens, mp3 players, drones, or Justin Bieber.

To be strictly accurate nobody actually needs any of those things today!

I never bothered using technology to get fit. A few years back I was a couple of stone over weight. I lost it by walking the 1 mile to work each day (previous job) and swimming twice a week. In 4 months I was back to where I should be. I still go swimming twice a week and get regular walking exercise at the weekend.
