OP claims it asked for an estimate on the Confused.com website. I've just checked, it's worded as..

Looks pretty simple to me.
Clearly, you can't foresee it to the exact mile, so it is an estimation. They do however, expect you to be honest and as accurate as possible otherwise they may withdraw cover if you take the piss and don't inform them.
The "help" for that question states..

So no estimation is mentioned  unless you look in help.... And then it mentions "As Accurate" aaspossible
OP said he did more than his figure quoted.... So he was blatantly not telling the truth... to a Ins co
