So I've a day to day trusty Sv650 that i use (a 99 curvy model) and today is developed a strange problem, i looked so at my speedo whilst plodding along in a 30 zone and apparently i was doing just shy of 70mph! Haha thought it may have been the speedo drive on the front wheel but looks to be in good condition, i have no backlight illuminating the speedo at night either so I'm wondering if the 2 maybe related?

Any ideas?

Many thanks chaps

Think curvy is a mechanical one with both readings?

When you say you looked at the drive, you went inside the wheel? Mines munched a rotor before, if some of the magnet have disintegrated or its the later models drive you will get a off reading.

km/h or kmph; kmh does not make any sense.

Makes perfect sense to me. Humans should only ever use MPH.
