Well if he doesn't buy paddock stands then he's never going to learn how to use them without dropping the bike.
I'd much rather put the bike on paddock stands than balance it on a scissor lift.
Get someone to give you a hand the first few times you're put it on the stands and take it off the stands, it's nice and easy once you've got the hang of it. |

Get yourself an Abba stand and the fittings for your bike. They're simple to use, one person operated and very stable and secure. |

same as what i do when i cant be fucked to put it on the paddock stand to lube the chain.. ____________________ Fin: no matter how much I look at It I can't understand what was going through my head, all I remember is going about 80 and redlining it to stop it seizing.

If it's a factory 4-2 exhaust system then it'll likely be fine. Some bikes (the Hayabusa for example) are designed for jacking under the exhaust pipes.

I use one of those to lift my Africa Twin. I set the sticky up bits the same distance apart as the unused brackets for the centre stand on the bike and lift it using those. Can be done single handed in that case. ____________________ Blackmail is a nasty word........but not as nasty as phlegm!
