Not entirely sure I'd trust that Fairly certain episodes of 999 used to start with something similar. |

I work on all sorts of bikes. Paddock stands are handy, but useless for suspension work. Heavier, taller bikes can be awkward to mount and unless its an old snotter, its not something you want to practice with.
Abba stands are good, at a price.
To this day, I still laugh at the struggles people seem to have. A cheap electric winch and nylon strapping, mounted to an overhead beam, or even a nice, strong A frame if that option is not available. Work on suspension with NO risk of the bike toppling over. Front forks are easy. Remove engines easily. The list goes on. £30 from Lidle for mine, used it for more years than I want to remember, lifts lumps of Harley with only the effort of pushing my thumb on a button. Whats not to like? ____________________ The CBR900RR has been sold. Aprilia Falco worms its way into my heart.

I was thinking along those lines but with an engine hoist or some kind of scaffold and winch set up.

Paddock stands are definitely worthwhile, but I often end up doing it this way... ____________________ '07 Honda CBF500 / '93 Vauxhall Astra (www.fb.com/2wdOffRoader) / '04 Vauxhall Movano

That works even better if you pull the pins out of the footpegs and turn the pegs upside-down. It sits very stable on the axle stands under the up-turned pegs. ____________________ a.k.a 'Geri'
