The scene must have really changed in the last 4 weeks since i sold my Rocco
Good to know that there are now MOT guidelines though, but that still won't stop folk either finding a "friendly" MOT tester, or fitting their standard wheels back on |
Hey, you started this argument by claiming...

In my experience, a lot of people in the customised car scene, especially the Vee-Dub scene, tend to fit their own stretched tyres.
I don't know a "specialist tyre fitter" who'd want to be liable for fitting a tyre so far out of it's permitted rim width, that it's dangerous.. You clearly do though. ____________________ TZR250 2MA road, TZR250 1KT road, TZR250 2MA race, TDR250, YZF-750R Boost colours.

Eeeyyyyyyy
Managed to get both tyres inflated, in the end it took more practice with the starter fluid method, I was lighting the fluid too soon before, leaving it to air out for a bit longer seemed to help and make a bigger explosion.
It only seated on inside of the rim (the part which gradually gets wider), I lit both tyres opposite ways up hoping it would seat the other side.
Either way, once one side was seated I could put some weight on the rim while it was on an old tyre which closed the gap so I could get air in there.
