Although the retailers may have handed over the cash, it's actually their customers who've contributed to the 'good causes'. The money was never the retailers in the first place, that's what's known as "self aggrandisement" on the part of the retailers!
In other words the retailers have contributed the grand total of sweet FA to good causes, minus their 1% of course!

Multipack crisps.

There would be no problems if they didn't wrap mutipack crisps in 5 times the amount of plastic actually required. Obviously it's an attempt to make you think you'r getting more, but it's completely wasteful and should be eliminated immediately.
