PostPosted: 17:56 - 19 Jan 2018    Post subject: Iphone 5 vs 5SE Reply with quote

I recently bought a 32 gig Iphone 5 as I wanted a small phone as my Android phone was big/cumbersome. Iphone 5 is great bar 2 features, it can't do LTE band 20 on 02 so up in Stafford I am on 3g with it and I can't use Apple pay without buying the Watch to sync it with.

The IPhone 5se CAN do LTE band 20 so 4G {Hurrah} and do Apple pay as it's got the chip from the Iphone 6s in it. Thing is, it's gonna cost me £160 for an average/good condition 16GB or £175 for a battered 64GB. Any Apple fans on here that can advise me weather it's worth the upgrade as it's meant to be lightening quick compared to the Iphone 5, also there is the finger scanner security; I liked this feature on my Android phone. I think I'll get £80 for my Iphone 5, so the upgrade is either going to cost me £80 for the good condition 16 gig SE or £95 for the cosmetically challenged 64 gig variant. Worth it or no?

Lastly is there any way to record Iphone 5 calls that is as easy as using Androidrec or Cube recorder on Android? from what I gather its not as simple as pressing a button and saving the call, all the ones I've tried have had to make a third party call and other such malarky to join the calls together to record. Help appreciated.

I'm quite liking the Iphone now, I could get a Samsung A3 I suppose BUT I'm quite taken by the Iphone, sort of grows on you.

Sounds really good apart from all the features you want that it doesn't have. Shocked

Yeah. The recording thing will be the main stickler. If I buy the 16 gig version which is in nice condition, it's got LTE 20, finger scanner and Apple pay. Since you can't add a memory card, I'd just upgrade my Google drive for £16 for the year for 100 gig and put all my FLV vids and other stuff on there. A mint 64 gig is £250 I wouldn't want to spend that. A battered phone would bother me, despite it working correctly.

I bought an SE to replace a badly smashed 5s, the SE is appreciably faster everywhere than the 5s which was slightly slicker than the 5 before it, the rear camera is very useable and takes decent pics and videos especially in good light. And live pics can be handy for action shots. A compromise might be to look for a 5s, it at least has a fingerprint scanner.

Only you can decide it's worth but it's a 6s (other than touch sensitive screen) in a smaller and neater body and is noticeably slicker.

Nope. It's great, as quick as any Android phone I have ever had and more to the point the camera is phenomenal.

I like it. I've had an A5 2017 Android 7, S5, J3, J5, HTC One M9, Huwawei P9 lite. The 5se is a breath of fresh air. I also paid £215 brand new for it, can't complain.
