Hi all, first post on the forum so be gentle with me!
I’m looking at ferrying to Spain then down to the coast near Alicante to a relatives villa then return. Questions to follow on the route!
My Speed Triple has a full system Arrow pipe marked ‘not for road use’ and without a baffle. It’s the official accessory from Triumph and to be honest isn’t that loud, just more so than standard and not a screaming race pipe.
As it’s a full system (headers to tail pipe), it’s a pain to remove and replace with the standard setup.
Anyone any experience with the Spanish authorities and ‘non standard’ parts?
Grateful for any advice, thanks.

If you attract attention to yourself they will not be forgiving.

I don't know their specific laws, though the success of Spanish racers and popularity of motogp there would suggest they might be quite friendly in that regard.

I've ridden through lots of Europe on a debaffled noisy bike without even thinking about the local laws and never had an issue with the police.

Just don't give them a reason to look twice by riding like a prat and you'll be fine.

rode through northern Spain/Pyrenees 3 times on a zzr1200 with twin stubbies and no baffle, same bike around French, Swiss and Austrian alps with no problems, done the same a couple of times on a v4 tuono, again no baffle and not been pulled once, I did put the baffle in the tuono halfway through though as the noise was really starting to piss me off lol

Thanks for the info. Looks as though things should be ok, as I said not overly noisy (all things are subjective!). Just didn't want to spend my hols with large fines and / or an impounded bike!
