Creating videos on an underpowered pc.

So as the title says, I've recently purchased a GoPro Hero 5 and would like to take some of that footage and create some videos, however my pc is seriously underpowered for the task in hand. It's an MSI computer ae2410, and beside a hdd swap (like for like), it's pretty much stock.

Would it be worth investing in upgrading to its limits, which I think isn't very far, or buy a laptop or something? What kind of spec would I need to run premiere pro for say a 1080*60?

It's an AIO, you can't really upgrade more than HD or RAM, neither of which are going to impact you more than the processor and GFX.

You can still edit video, it'll just take a while, especially rendering it out. It's not like these machines can't do it, they just do it slowly.

Working with 1080p is not that demanding but you will find rendering slow, though if you minimise any tweaking it will be quicker.
There's no need to record 60fps routinely which will also help.
Not familiar with Hero5 but the H4 gets best results recording at 2.7K where there's an option which does away with the fisheye pretty much.

which version of Prem Pro are you using? even with an i7 running at 4.2GHz with SSD's and a gtx750ti it was painful untill PP started using the graphics card which meant I could preview files in real time. now with a gtx 1060 and PP CC its a lot easier but if your putting warp stabalize on and a few lighting tricks it still takes a while in 4k..1080 not so bad but the fustrating thing is sometimes it'll use the cpu at 100% and other times it'll be using only 25% and taking ages

Yes that's a good point, in project settings make sure it's set to use GPU, you can monitor how it's doing in Task Manager.
