Stator check
Stator test
three wires out usually yellow or white
any one to -ve (earth) more than 30M ohms
between any pair (three tests) between 0.3 and 2 ohms
Also check power (RED) and earth (GREEN) wires from rec reg to battery are low resistance Honda looms can fail ! ____________________ Dave

Can also do a dynamic test on the stator. AC voltage between each pair of yellows coming off the stator with the engine running. See if there's an increasing output with rev speed that's roughly consistant between each pair.
Be aware it can be a high enough voltage to give you a dunt so don't hold onto the wires. I've seen >70VAC. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. That's when things happen. That's when you find out everything you want to know.”
