Surely the obvious thing is just don't get caught.
Don't think it's legal to ride on any pavement. Possibly depends on a dropped kerb though. ____________________ My Flickr |

All you've found out is that parking ghoul is more likely to ticket you in one place than another. It doesn't mean that there's any actual reason for it, or that it will apply to any other ghoul, or even to that ghoul if his missus is on the rag or he's down on his quota. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

The issue isn't riding on the pavement (although I've been told a similar lie by the local ghouls), it's where the bike is parked.
If you actually want opinions on that, let's see some streetview links. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

Looks like Lincoln Council do offer dedicated motorcycle parking, but they also want you to pay for it too, how very dare they
https://www.lincoln.gov.uk/living-in-lincoln/transport-travel-and-parking/parking/motorcycle-parking/
And that is pretty much all the info they give you on motorcycle parking
Over where i live & work in Chesterfield/Sheffield, all the council run car parks where motorcycle bays are present are all free (even if there are only a few of them) ____________________ Current Bike: Honda CG125 ES4 // Honda CB600FS Hornet // Triumph Street Triple R |

I don't use it, haven't tried it.
I just dump my bike on the pavement so it's out of the way, never had a ticket.
I seem to remember a conversation around 15 years ago with a traffic warden in Manchester, I'd asked about parking and he said they don't ticket bikes so long as they're not obstructing.
Things may have changed since. |
Just tired that app, seems to point out all the places i know of round where i work, so seems to work ok ____________________ Current Bike: Honda CG125 ES4 // Honda CB600FS Hornet // Triumph Street Triple R |

Yes.
It's called Google Maps and you can use it to give us links to the two pavement parking places.
The chances are the different parking rules will be easily explained if you just show the locations to us.
Without Google Maps links, every single answer you get is just guess work. With Google Maps links, you'll quickly get an accurate answer.
Why do people insist on making things so difficult for themselves? |
