Firefighter
Passed my DAS in Feb last year after learning on a Gladius. Looked at a couple of bikes, then had a ride out on a VFR800 and fell for the bike straight away (a 2002 VTEC). A year on now and no regrets. The build quality on the VFR is excellent, its started on the button each time every time and it’s a comfortable ride (great lights as well). The V4 engine has plenty torque and can provide lots of fun. The VTEC kick at 6,500 revs under max acceleration isn't to everyone taste although I don’t mind it, the engine howling gets the blood going I find
The VRF Facebook forums are well supported and very active, so there is plenty of helpful advice on hand.
My only two criticisms of the bike are:
1) the weight, it’s quite a lump with a high CofG, so you just need to be ultra-careful when moving it round.
2) the stock exhausts are way too quiet IMHO. Easy to sort though, with aftermarket cans (not cheap though), or the route I went which is to gut the cans (sounds great).
Kind regards
