why not slide the ali inside and bolt up, bit of tape or a sticker to cover the crack lol

Why bother with all that when you could just chop it back for single sided swing aesthetics. Wink

Should have chopped the other leg off and taken the opportunity to re-angle that broken one as a fashionable gull arm.

Be interesting to stick it in a press and see which side caves first. I bet the total mass of alloy in those "splints" exceeds what you'd find in a modern swingarm. I'd want two bolts each side of the crack on that top one though to prevent rotation.

Mind you. Are those even actual bolts? or are they those course threaded coach bolt things you use for wood?

Yep, those are self tappers. Fine for wood, where you’re going into a deep and soft material, but I doubt that swingarm is thicker than 3mm.
If he’d stuck a bar on either side and bolted it through properly, then it would probably be stronger than the original.
