Just been looking for something to watch at 8pm and noticed that the new series starts tonight.

Thankfully I have found a programme worth watching elsewhere.

For those of you who do watch this....

The new series kicks off with Matt, Chris and Rory taking a road trip across America's Wild West in the latest McLaren, Jaguar and Ford sports cars. Rob Brydon tackles the Top Gear track in the Reasonably Fast Car. Rory is back later at 10:45pm with Extra Gear, featuring exclusives and special guests including John Hennessey and Sabine Schmitz. Rory gets behind the wheel of an MK 1 GT40 with 1969 Le Mans winner Jackie Oliver, and Chris Harris takes a Vauxhall VXR8 GTS R around the Top Gear test track.

Watched it with the mrs.

Parts were okay. Ken block thing seemed pointless and we both got bored. Rob brydon doing his own commentary for SIARPC was weird.

Felt like it was on for ages....not a good thing.

When you follow a recipe book for a cake, get a few ingredients wrong and it doesn't quite work....was a bit like that.

Needed less challenges/races and more travelling, TG is best as a travel program with some blokes larking about on the side. I still get excited by it coming back but then I soon didn't know why..

GT40 was good though!

It was wasn't it. As was trying to repeat what old TG did (taking V8s to Bonneville) and failing. The Ken Block sequence wasn't anywhere as good as the one with James May, they even setup a similar jump.

The banter seemed a little better though, like the presenters were more comfortable with each other. I might watch a bit more as GT has finished.

I have not watched top gear in ages or the grand tour. I watched top gear last night by chance as i was channel surfing and it felt weird like they are trying way to hard and its not working. I won't be watching it again in a hurry.

Think I've said this before but why don't they make the whole thing like Extra Gear. No celebrity bollocks except actual racing drivers (not Rob f'ing Brydon Rolling Eyes), no scripted shite, just a car show Shocked

I enjoyed it. It's as good as 'bad' Grand Tour. Grand tour has improved, yes and is now on a par with 'old' top gear, but 'new' Top Gear has also improved, and is now just about watchable.

I enjoyed both! Thumbs Up Smile

Watched it last night and thought “meh!” I don’t think I’ll rush home to watch it next week.

I think LeBlanc answered those who were questioning his riding skills Smile Harris did pretty well* seeing as (AFAIK) he doesn't really ride.

Haven't watched sunday's episode, watched last weeks though.

Top Gear is really trying too hard to be Top Gear. (knowwhatimean)

They need to discover their own identity.

A serious car show, you know how Fifth Gear was for like one series before they turned into Another Gear.

Last night's episode was the first I'd watched of the new Top Gear.
I didn't hate it. I'll probably watch a few more on catch up.

I doubt either of them were actually riding when they were making rapid progress.
The electric off road bikes did look good until the price was mentioned.

I caught some of the last few minutes of the electric dirt bike ride through the woods as I was flicking through the channels last night.I was not that enamoured by the riding as it was not in this country. At the end of the ride there was a distinct silence as they sat around a log fire...and then more silence.

Boring Neutral

I did not wait to watch the rest of the programme Rolling Eyes

Totally, watched it last night.

I like Matt but just ended up tuning out most of it. The whole bigfoot thing just seemed pointless and irritating. As much as I don't like Chris Harris (the moaning old fart act gets on my wick); he wasn't wrong.

A little. I wonder if it's to appeal more to an American audience. The Stigfoot gag was mildly amusing.

Think I've said it before I like Harris but not the act he puts on for TG.
