the intake cam was set at 27 pin count? stock setting is 28 from exhaust ,,, could this possible be a hotrod trick setup or definitely a mistake ?

Valve overlap is usually symetrical , if you check the specs inlet opens ( so many degrees^)btdc and exh closes(^?) atdc is usually the same number of degrees. If you turn the engine over you should see at TDC* the exh closing and the inlet opening . If you carefully rock it back and to around TDC you would expect that the amount of opening and closing to be equal, either side of TDC . 99% chance it was set wrongly.


* TDC happens twice on a 4 stroke , once on compression and once "on the rock" top of the exh stroke.

It's a mistake, set it to 28.
